1. Our Privacy Promise

Markist is built on a simple principle: you own your data. We're not interested in your personal information, your usage habits, or your behavior. Here's what that means:

• Your data stays on your device
• No accounts required — ever
• No tracking — zero
• No data collection — none
• Your data is plain markdown — you can read it anywhere

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

We collect nothing. Specifically, we do not collect:

• Personal information (name, email, phone)
• Usage analytics or statistics
• Crash reports (unless you explicitly opt-in)
• Device identifiers
• Location data
• Contacts
• Any other data

3. Where Your Data Is Stored

• Daily logs & templates: Your device (iOS Sandbox) — encrypted with iOS Data Protection
• App configuration: Your device (iOS Sandbox) — encrypted with iOS Data Protection
• iCloud sync (optional): Apple's servers — end-to-end encrypted

4. Optional iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud sync:

• Your data is synced only to your iCloud
• Data is end-to-end encrypted — Apple cannot read it
• Only your devices can decrypt your data
• You can disable iCloud sync anytime in Settings

5. Third-Party Services

We do not use any third-party services that collect data:

• No analytics (Google Analytics, Firebase, Amplitude, etc.)
• No crash reporting (Crashlytics, Sentry, Bugsnag) without consent
• No advertising SDKs (AdMob, Facebook Ads, etc.)
• No social media SDKs
• No tracking pixels

6. Your Data, Your Control

Export Your Data

Settings → Export → Export all data as ZIP (includes all daily files, templates, and configuration)

Delete Your Data

Settings → Data Management → Delete All Data

Data Format

Your data is stored as plain markdown files — you can open them in any text editor, import to other apps, or back them up manually.

7. Security

• Local Storage: All data is stored in the iOS app sandbox, protected by iOS
• Encryption: iOS Data Protection encrypts files when your device is locked

8. Children's Privacy

Markist does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app has no content, accounts, or features designed to attract children.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes, we'll update this page. Since we don't collect any data, there won't be much to change — but we'll keep this page accurate.
